2021 in Review: My Year in Books

Below are the books I read this year. If I’ve posted a review, the images will be clickable to that review.

After watching Bridgerton on Netflix, I had a desire to read that series of books. This is a case where I think the mini-series will likely be better than the books. I’m not much of a romance reader, so these largely fell flat to me. I think I covered a wide variety of books this year.

My favorites include Confessions of a Prairie Bitch, The Four Winds, Face It, NOS4A2, Wham! George Michael & Me, The Institute, and Brooklyn Legacies.

The biggest disappointments were The Book of Two Ways, Night Fall, and The Butler A Witness to History. The first two are more disappointments because I generally like the author’s work and these weren’t up to what I usually read from them. The last was just nothing of what I expected because I loved the movie.

The rest fall somewhere in between. Most I can recommend, they just didn’t dazzle me or make me want to turn the next page. Some I couldn’t wait to finish. I loved the celebrity autobiographies as they revealed people much more complex than the media shows us. All in all, though, it was a good year in books.
