FUBO TV Deletes Channels and Ups Their Price

We cut the cord on cable a few months back. After comparing all of the services out there for streaming, we went with FUBO TV. They had the channels we wanted for the most part, and at a good price. We have been pretty satisfied with it.

Until today.

I came home and my son told me two of his favorite channels were missing. I have to admit, I hadn’t gone looking to make sure Cartoon Network and Boomerang were part of the package, but they were and he was very happy. I started searching to see the news, and I found out all of the Turner Channels were being deleted from the network, as well as a price increase.

Now, the price increase might not hit us because we are already paying $65 a month with the add-ons we have. The price we have been paying was $55 a month, plus family share, plus DVR, plus FUBO extra. That came to $65. With our Spectrum service on internet only, we are still saving over $60 per month. They are upping the price to $65 per month, but that includes the DVR and family share. It might be a difference of only a few dollars for us.

The channels are what are making me question keeping the service. One reason I chose FUBO TV was that they had The Weather Channel in their lineup. I checked and that is still there. I thought that was part of the CNN channels (which we have also lost). The totals deletion is TNT, TBS, CNN, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, truTV, HLN, TCM, CNN EspaƱol and CNN International.

There is a “replacement” on the horizon. FUBO TV has apparently inked a multi-year deal with Disney and will soon add ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN 3, ABC, ABC News Live, FX, FXX, Disney Channel, Freeform, and National Geographic.

I will wait and see what happens. Sometimes these channels disappear and then come back as part of negotiations. If we do lose Weather Channel, I will definitely be looking for another service.

  1. Yahoo TV is upping our rate as well. I think around $65 or so. I saw the message last night. They added channels but I couldn’t care less. It’s getting like cable
